March 25: Railway boost most welcome; Labour criticsm is off track

From: Bob Watson, Baildon.

THE announcement about the substantial upgrade for railways in the North has to be welcomed by everyone. It was farcical to read Labour Shadow Transport Secretary Michael Dugher saying the Government was desperate for votes (The Yorkshire Post, March 20). Is this man in the real world? Did he expect such expenditure to have been forthcoming in the past five years?
