Modern moral decline bodes ill for the future

WHAT has happened to the morals of this once great nation of ours? Every time I pick up the morning paper I am disturbed at what I read.

I am told that we have some children, not yet adolescent, watching the hardest of hardcore pornography online or on TV. There are young girls, not yet 15, being abused daily, and some ending up becoming pregnant.

Where are the parents of these children?

Probably down at the pub spending their benefits.

These children have nothing to look forward to whilst growing up.

The magic of adolescence has passed them by, and the beauty of a successful marriage has become unavailable.

We now have a situation where we very nearly have abortion on demand.

What a dreadful legacy for the next generation. I always thought that with all the paraphernalia available today unwanted children were a thing of the past.

I don’t watch Downton Abbey but I see that a gay character has been introduced. Was that really necessary or is it to provide a little titillation to the plot?

I am no straight-laced Puritan, I can laugh at a dirty joke as much as the next man, but there is a difference between what is private and what is for universal perusal.

There is no doubt that what is available on today’s media cannot be good for the future of the human race.

It went a long way in destroying the Roman Empire. Is it our turn next?
