Mystified by reader poll

YOUR readers have got it wrong again! Having rebuffed Conservative MP Graham Brady’s plea for more grammar schools – see my previous letter (Yorkshire Post, January 17) – they have now made a complete mess of Jonathan Reed’s call to Tory MPs to blow David Cameron’s wind farm vision off course. A 95 per cent call for more wind farms in your paper’s “Question of the Day” (Yorkshire Post, January 27) seems pretty conclusive to me. In both of these instances there seems to be a total disconnect. What’s happening?

In praise of NHS hospital staff

IN response to Jayne Dowle (Yorkshire Post, January 30), Harrogate Hospital is a shining example within the National Health Service.

A week spent as a patient recently was one of total care, great courtesy, many kindnesses, good humour. As a member of the ageing community, it was a very reassuring stay with splendid doctors, very impressive nursing and lovely staff from many countries.

SHEFFIELD MP Meg Munn (Yorkshire Post, January 27) writes about the benefits of a scheme called Tennis For Free.

How ironic that in the same issue the Labour council of Sheffield is planning to reduce sports facilities and increase charges in the public parks.

No free pass
