No sport when it comes to dealing with BT

From: Jeanne Cossils, West End, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.

HAVING read Norma Bartle’s letter (Yorkshire Post, October 15) about BT’s service, I offer this account.I needed a new line. In August I phoned BT and was told: “First available appointment 25th September 2013.”

September 25 came – my phone and broadband was switched off at 9am. I am still without a phone or broadband.

When I telephone the number given (on a broadband mobile phone, which is pay as you go and costing a lot of money), I was told they were waiting for a part coming. I wrote to the head office in London – no reply. I phoned the office on Wednesday October 9. They are still going to return my call.

BT are spending millions advertising BT Sport but cannot reconnect me. At this rate people wanting BT Sport for next year’s World Cup had better be in touch with BT now. Service from BT is non-existent.

BACK in July, npower wrote asking, in bold print: “Is your energy tariff right for you?”

I was tempted to write across it “you have the details, you tell me” and send it back; but remembering the old adage about frying pan and fire, I decided it wasn’t worth the stamp. Now, Energy Secretary Ed Davey tells us that there are a range of competitors that are offering a much better deal (Yorkshire Post, October 18).

Names and details please Mr Davey.
