The public want to see action not words on immigration

From: John Craven, Green Road, Baildon, West Yorkshire.

SO Lib Dem MP David Ward thinks the Prime Minister is “pandering to a certain element who are concerned about immigration” (Yorkshire Post, April 15). I have news for you David Ward, go and speak to your constituents and I think you might find most of them are concerned about more immigration.

Is it not time politicians did listen to the wishes of the electorate and took sensible steps to deal with immigration? Labour allowed an unknown number of migrants into the country, this must be addressed. Maybe the solution would be to restrict benefit payments to those who have paid in to the scheme for a minimum of five years, thus rewarding those who come here to work, this should also apply to migrants from the European Union.

How can David Cameron can justify closing care homes and making people redundant who have paid into the welfare state for years while handing over “our money” to dependants of Europeans who have not paid into the system.

Most sensible people know that times are hard and cuts have to be made but if you don’t have spare money it is prudent to be careful how you spend the little you have.

Charity begins at home, the likes of David Ward and his wishy-washy Lib Dem friends should remember that. Controlling immigration is not an attack on communities, it is a move to ensure that we can manage the population we already have in a fair manner.

POSH Dave Cameron gives us all a speech on how tough he is going to be on immigration when in fact, just like the last lot, he and his fellow “schoolboys” will do exactly nothing.

Simply because he and they cannot and dare not do anything that may upset the non-elected EU bureaucrats who continue pulling the strings of our Parliament.

Remember the tough talk from Dave and Parliament a few weeks ago on prisoners voting rights? In a few weeks time we shall see how tough “Posh” Dave is when they order him to comply with EU laws.

TO hear Vince Cable being critical of David Cameron for saying we want good immigration not mass immigration just shows how far out of touch with reality he is.

The country just cannot support Labour’s idea of “everybody welcome” any longer. Dr Cable was willing to hitch his wagon to the Conservative train to get some modicum of power and should therefore be prepared to support the leader of the Government instead of trying to undermine him.

No doubt Dr Cable would have been more at home alongside Labour and is therefore trying to unsettle the coalition in the hope that Naughty Nick will give up being the sidekick of David Cameron and become the lickspittle of Little Red Ted.
