Real role to put your heart into

From: Denise Armstrong, Assistant Director, Heart Research UK, Joseph’s Well, Leeds.

IT seems to me that there are lots of people who, having retired or finished work, are looking for something worthwhile to fill their time and to give something back to society.

What a shame that charities like us, Heart Research UK, are struggling to find skilled volunteers. I’m sure there are people out there, who just don’t realise that these opportunities exist.

Sound idea for patients to rest

From: Barbara Osborn, Southway, Guiseley.

I AM sorry the enjoyment of your letter writer Mr Reeves was spoilt by the sound of the Olympic opening ceremony being turned down at midnight in Millennium Square, Leeds. Perhaps if he had studied his surroundings he would have noticed that one of the buildings overlooking the square is the LGI and perhaps the patients needed to sleep!
