I FEEL that I must reply to Dr Ronald Donaldson over his recent letter criticising Jet2 and defend the airline.

I can of course only speak of our own experience, but Jet2 has been nothing short of fantastic in all our dealings with them this year.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

They have had to cancel four return flights for myself and my wife, sometimes along with friends as well,

The customer service of Jet2 has been praised by a reader.

They have always kept us up to date with what was happening and told us not to worry.

We did not need to contact them as they will be in touch regarding refunds prior to each departure date,

They were true to their word – not a mention of a credit note or rescheduled flight.

Our refunds appeared in full in our bank account before the due flight date on every occasion.

The service of Jet2 has been praised by readers.

They are a fantastic operation and really fly the flag for Yorkshire.

We will not use any of the budget airlines, even if they are somewhat cheaper. Price isn’t everything as people have found out to their cost during these troubled times.

Keep up the good work Jet2 – your company and staff offer a great service.
