Where has the flexibility gone?
CONGRATULATIONS to Mary Lawler (The Yorkshire Post, March 21) whose son, four days older than the school entry date of September 1, has been allowed another 12 months to develop.
My son, born on September 4, was the opposite case; ready for school and complaining bitterly about “that silly playschool”. He actually entered school on his fifth birthday, the oldest child in the year.
