Why it will pay to sell KC Stadium

From: Trev Bromby, Sculcoates Lane, Hull.

Am I the only person who is puzzled by Hullites and the council referring to the KC Stadium as an asset?

If my maths is right, it has shown a return over 10 years of 0.1 per cent against initial cost. This is not an asset – it is a travesty. It will only become an asset when it is sold to recoup the indefensible initial outlay.

Hull is now being told that if the KC is sold, some Animal Farm stipulations dictate what the money can and cannot be spent on.

Damn the councils of yesteryear, pin your hopes on the present council and trust that they sell the “asset” and spend the money on regeneration.

Rich pickings

REFERRING to your story and editorial (Yorkshire Post, June 6) that hundreds of police officers from this region will be deployed to London for the Olympics.

Don’t you honestly think that task like this should be undertaken by the Armed Forces?

Health problems

From: Sam Johnson, Ilkley.

BEFORE becoming Prime Minister, David Cameron said that his three priorities would be the “NHS, NHS, NHS”.

So why then is he having to give five new guarantees?

It shows the extent to which the Tories are mismanaging health policy.
