Yorkshire Dales was packed with groups of visitors before lockdown ended: Yorkshire Post Letters

WATCHING TV news on Sunday evening about the number of people travelling to our National Parks and also coastal resorts, I realised that the easing of lockdown was to begin on Monday, June 1.

So I can only assume that when I was in the Dales for a couple of hours on Saturday, May 30 (essential work, not leisure), the very large amount of people I saw there were just a mirage caused by the hot weather.

If it wasn’t a mirage and these people had got the easing date wrong and were actually, there then they must all be very rich.

How will the lifting of the lockown impact on national parks like the Yorkshire Dales? How will the lifting of the lockown impact on national parks like the Yorkshire Dales?

The reason I assume this is that if they were all in family groups from the same household they would all own property with a minimum of 10 bedrooms.

Looking at a lot of flash cars that were tearing about everywhere, perhaps they were all wealthy and it was a millionaire’s day trip to the
Dales.

I, FOR one, am quite content to stay at home away from resort areas, thus avoiding overpriced drinks, food, ice cream, car parking etc and which will, no doubt, be further increased in order to make up for “lost time”.
