Ordeal for womantrapped in crash
A woman was trapped in wreckage with a broken hip after a car careered down an embankment off the A56, near Skipton, yesterday.
The casualty was trapped for 45 minutes after the accident just after 3.30am, North Yorkshire fire service said. A crew from Skipton worked with colleagues from the Lancashire service to remove the passenger side door.
