Over 2,000 NHS staff back at work after redundancy

AN MP is demanding that the salaries of a married couple who had senior roles at Leeds hospitals after taking nearly £1m in redundancy payouts from the NHS are revealed.

Chris Reed and Karen Straughair were given management jobs in the city months after being made redundant from their previous posts in the North East.

Hospitals chiefs in Leeds have refused to say how much they were paid for their temporary roles as interim chief executive and recovery director, saying details will be published next year.

Greg Mulholland, Lib Dem MP for Leeds North West, said: “Full details of this case and the wider issue should be disclosed by all health bodies involved.”
