Owner reports £10,000 jewellery stolen from wardrobe

The owner of the jewellery told Humberside Police he put the valuables inside an unlocked wardrobe in his house in Newland Park, in the west of the city, back in April.

He had not been to look since then, but when he checked the wardrobe last week it had all gone.

The owner believes somebody has gained access to the address and taken the property.

The jewellery which is thought to have been stolen includes a pair of diamond solitaire earrings, which are set in white gold with a solid setting, and are estimated to be worth between 7,500 and 10,000.

With them have gone a matching gold chain and bracelet that cost 1,500 several years ago.

In addition there was a small string of pearls, slightly bigger than a choker, arranged in a single row.

Its value is unknown.

Another item to have gone missing is a double string of pearls with a fancy pearl clasp and a built up clasp with small pearls on the fastening. It is not known how much it is worth.

Also taken was a spider-shaped diamond and sapphire brooch, a gent's gold identity bracelet in rose gold, which was engraved in Hebrew, a diamond engagement ring with five diamonds and, finally, a diamond eternity ring set in platinum or white gold.

Police are asking anyone who recognises the description and thinks they may know its whereabouts or has information about a possible burglary at the property in Newland Park to get in touch on 0845 60 60 222.
