Pair sought over series of shop thefts

POLICE want to speak to two people in connection with a number of thefts from local shops in which goods valued at a significant amount were taken.

Over a period of two weeks the suspects were caught on CCTV at two supermarkets in north east Leeds where items worth more than 1,800 were stolen.

The pair were first captured on camera at the Street Lane branch of the Co-op in Roundhay on August 11 where washing detergent was taken.

Police say from the footage they have recovered the female suspect is about 25, slim, around 5ft 8in, with long black hair, sometimes worn up.

The second suspect is a white male, 25 to 30, of average build, around 5ft 10in with dark hair. On each occasion he has been picked up by CCTV cameras he is seen wearing a light green or grey sports style jacket that is always zipped up and has a distinctive dark blue strip which runs up the centre of the coat.

The pair were captured on CCTV at the same store a week later where a large quantity of detergent was stolen.

Police have also recovered further CCTV footage of the pair captured at the High Ash Lane branch of Co-op in Alwoodley on August 21 and 22 when further items were stolen.
