Panto legend back in city for 34th year

Berwick Kaler is back in York this Christmas for another year of pantomime madness.

The pantomime legend will appear at York Theatre Royal in his latest seasonal treat, Robin Hood and his Merry Mam!, from December 13 to February 2. The production, which offers the usual recipe of slapstick, mayhem and zany antics, is set in 1212, with King Richard the Lionheart away fighting in the Crusades, while at home Robin Hood has the task of saving the rightful heirs to the throne from the evil Prince John and Sheriff Hutton of Nottingham.

Joining Berwick Kaler, who will be appearing in his 34th pantomime at the theatre and the 40th in his career, is pictured with regular panto favourite Martin Barrass. Jonathan Race takes over from regular baddie David Leonard, also For tickets call 01904 623568.
