Panto memories sought as theatre marks milestone

FOR more than a century, it has been a festive tradition that has attracted thousands to one of Yorkshire's historic theatres.

And panto-goers are being asked to recall their memories of bygone productions, which were first staged at Harrogate Theatre in 1900.

Managers at the venue are marking the theatre's 110-year anniversary by appealing for stories, memories and memorabilia such as posters, adverts and merchandise from past pantomime productions.

Plans are being considered to use the artefacts and records in the programme for this year's panto, Dick Whittington, which was also the first production back in 1900.

Photos and details of past pantomimes can be emailed to [email protected]. This year's production runs from November 26 until January 15.
