Parents concerned about children's fitness

A quarter of parents think their children are unfit, research shows.

Almost half do not believe their offspring could run 3km (1.9 miles) without stopping and 70 per cent are concerned about lack of fitness, a survey for the Royal Parks Foundation showed.

But while 41 per cent of parents said their sons and daughters had no interest in sport, more than a third (38 per cent) of the adults questioned admitted they had no interest in getting fit themselves.
