Parents of 'Rooney vice girl' say sorry to Coleen

THE parents of the woman whom Wayne Rooney is alleged to have paid £1,200 a time for sex have apologised to the footballer's wife.

Hamish and Dana Thompson spoke out yesterday after claims their daughter Jennifer, 21, regularly slept with the Manchester United and England star while his wife was pregnant.

"Following the various newspaper articles concerning our daughter Jennifer, we would like to offer our most sincere apologies to Coleen Rooney and her family," they said in a statement.

"This may sound somewhat hollow but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened.

"We had absolutely no idea about any of the allegations and claims that have been made."

Miss Thompson is said to have met the striker – who scored in England's 3-1 victory over Switzerland on Tuesday – at Manchester's five-star Lowry Hotel for sex. She also spent time with him at Manchester's 235 Casino, she claims.

Coleen, 24, was pregnant with their son Kai at the time. She is at her parents' home in Huyton, Liverpool, as she assesses what to do.

Mr and Mrs Thompson said: "The last few days have been extremely trying for us and our family."

The couple, who were believed to be on holiday when news of their daughter's relationship with Rooney broke, added: "Jennifer is our daughter and we love her and we will deal with this matter as a family, not via the media.

"We would also like to make it clear that we are not interested in being interviewed by any newspaper or magazine, no matter what offer has or may be made.

"This is also true of Jenny's three brothers (Alexander, Charlie and Max) and other members of our families. We will not be answering any questions from this point forward."

Yesterday Rooney remained inside his multi-million-pound mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, which had security guards stationed outside, after returning from England's European Championship qualifier in Basel.

Several vehicles were allowed through the gate including one from Prestbury Flowers, which arrived in the afternoon and stayed for about half an hour. A Tesco van full of groceries followed it in a few hours later.

Yesterday his model and celebrity columnist wife emerged from her parents' plush detached house for the first time. She appeared with a scarf wrapped round her left hand, concealing the ring finger.

Miss Thompson was born in Aberdeen but brought up in the Gulf state of Qatar as her father is reportedly an oil company executive.

When the family returned to Britain and moved to Heaton, Bolton, she was privately educated at Lord's Independent School, which charges fees of 1,555 a term. But she appears to have rejected her education and middle-class background, to work at a Bolton nightclub where she is said to have met footballers.

Rooney's alleged infidelity has prompted bitter condemnation from some members of his wife's family, though neither he nor Coleen has publicly spoken of the issue.

Eight years ago, the then Coleen McLoughlin forgave Rooney his alleged romps with a 50-year-old prostitute because their relationship had not yet become serious and he apparently promised he would not hurt her again.

In a statement at the time, he admitted sleeping with prostitutes and said he had been "young and stupid".

In May, Rooney said in an interview that becoming a father was "life-changing".

The 24-year-old striker said he was enjoying early nights and spending time at home with his family instead of partying with team-mates.

"Now I have someone to look after and I just want to be with Kai and Coleen as much as possible," he said.

"Becoming a dad means you have to be a role model for your son and be someone he can look up to."
