Parents switch on to internet dangers

A FREE workshop is being held for parents in Beverley to help them understand the dangers their children face when they surf the web.

The session will explore the different ways youngsters use the internet through social networking sites like Bebo, Facebook and Twitter, instant messaging and downloading music, as well as looking at the risks involved.

Lisa Deeming, extended schools co-ordinator for Beverley, said: “Last year we undertook some research with local parents to find out what help and support they most needed.

“Information and support around internet safety came out as one of the topics parents wanted support with.”

The workshop is being held Wednesday, January 27 between 7pm and 9pm at Beverley High School.
