Parents urged to buy iPads

PARENTS have been urged to buy iPads for their children to use in class to ensure the youngsters can keep pace with the advent of technology.

Letters have been sent out to the parents of pupils at Rossett School in Harrogate to offer them the chance to purchase one of Apple’s tablet at a reduced cost, with prices starting at £224 for an iPad Mini.

Headteacher Pat Hunter said the use of iPads will “enrich and extend” pupils’ learning. A meeting was held last week to allay parents’ concerns over the cost of buying the devices. The school has stressed pupils who do not have an iPad will be able to borrow one in class.
