Parking charges increase put off until next year
A rise in car parking charges agreed by a Yorkshire council is being put off until next year in an attempt to support trade in the town.
Rotherham Council was expected to increase the cost of both on-street and off-street parking by 10n per cent from the end of this month, but it will now be introduced next year. The authority says visitor numbers to the town centre have been increasing and its intention is to support that trend.
