Parliament breaks wedding tradition
The Houses of Parliament is to be available as a wedding venue for anyone, including gay couples.
Westminster City Council has granted a licence for two rooms in the historic building to be used for marriages and civil partnerships.
The move breaks the tradition that only MPs, peers and certain parliamentary officials and their families could have conventional weddings inside the Palace of Westminster.
