Paul Gascoigne held over drug allegations

Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne has been arrested over alleged drugs offences.

The 43-year-old spent Thursday night in police custody on suspicion of possessing a class A substance.

His arrest came days after Gascoigne was warned he faced jail when he admitted at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court a charge of drink driving.
