Peak projects to get share of £40,000 in 'green grants'

COMMUNITIES in the Peak District are set to benefit from a share of more than £40,000 through a series of "green grants" announced by the authority which runs the national park.

Projects to promote walking, hydro-power and creative arts are among those to receive cash backing under the Peak National Park Authority's Sustainable Development Fund.

Villagers in Bradfield, on the edge of Sheffield have been given 5,300 which they plan to use to make the village and its surrounding countryside more attractive to walkers.
