Pedestrian, 20, seriously hurt after colliding with taxi in Leeds city centre

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a taxi in Leeds city centre.

The 20-year-old pedestrian was crossing the road near Leeds Magistrates Court at Westgate, near Somers Street, when a Peugeot Partner taxi heading towards Burley hit him yesterday at around 4am.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains seriously ill.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone with information that could assist them to come forward.
