Pensioner robbed by three men during attack in street

The incident happened in the Frecheville area of Sheffield between 8.45am and 9am as the victim walked past a bus stop.

It is thought two of the robbers were waiting at the bus stop in Birley Moor Road and grabbed the man who then tried to fight them off.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The two men approached him and grabbed the carrier bag he was carrying.

“It is believed a short struggle took place before the pair ran off with the bag, which contained a quantity of money.

“The two men were then joined by a third man as they all ran off onto Heathfield Road, where they all got into a small red car and drove off.

“As a result of the incident, the man sustained grazes to his knees.

“All three robbers are described as white. One, who was in his early 20s, was between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall, of stocky build and believed to have spoken with a local accent

“The second man was also in his early 20s, 6ft tall or slightly taller and of slim build. He was wearing dark coloured clothing.

“The third man was slim and wearing a black jacket with yellow sleeves, jeans and a baseball cap.”
