Dog dies 'after being hit by mobility scooter' in Bridlington

Police are investigating after a dog died following a collision with a mobility scooter.

Humberside Police said the incident happened on Hilderthorpe Road, in the town, on Saturday September 19.

A spokesperson said: "It was reported that a man riding a mobility scooter allegedly collided with a dog before shouting at the dog’s owner.

"The dog was taken to the vet's for treatment and was sadly put to sleep following the incident."

Police are treating the incident as a public order offence.
