Adam Slinger, who lived in Harrogate, was a regular volunteer at Feed Leeds Homeless Project and was 'eager to help' the city's rough sleepers.

The organisation said Adam had dedicated his time to helping those less fortunate than him, even bringing his young son along on outreach projects.

In a tribute paid online, the Feed Leeds Homeless Project team said: "It is with incredible sadness that Feed Leeds Homeless Project has learnt that one of our regular team members, Adam Slinger, has passed away.

"Adam had a heart of gold, giving up his time to support those who were less fortunate than him.

"He knew the importance of giving everyone a chance and wanting to help those in need, even bringing his son with him to pass on these lessons in life.

"Despite the issues surrounding COVID-19, he was still so eager to help the homeless people.
