Knaresborough Boats: How much to hire, opening times and best place to park

Fancy a day trip with a difference?

Many Yorkshire residents are heading to picturesque Knaresborough to hire boats which reopened on May 16 - while implementing strict coronavirus related regulations.

A spokesperson told the Yorkshire Evening Post the boat hire was busier than expected during the week of blazing hot weather in Yorkshire.

The spokesperson said: "In line with the regulations we reopened on the 16th May.

"We had less customers than usual, this increased until by the bank holiday numbers were at the usual level.

"That week with the hot weather we were busier than expected during the week, I guess due to more people not being at work or school.

"Now the weather has become changeable we are slightly down, probably due to no cafes, pubs or toilets for visitors."

The spokesperson said Yorkshire residents had behaved 'very well' in the circumstances and have been very understanding of the increased waiting times due to every boat being cleaned between customer use.

Find the boats just after the bridge, next to The World's End pub

How much does it cost?

Adults £7.00

Children age 6-15 £4.00

Seniors aged 65+ £5.00

When is the hire open?

The hire is open daily March - October from 10am to 5pm weather dependant.

Can I bring a dog?

Dogs are welcome according to the site.

Where is the best place to park?

According to the site, the best place to park is over the road in Conyngham Hall Car Park, Bond End, Knaresborough, HG5 9AY
