Major power cut at more than 700 Yorkshire homes as snow causes chaos

A major outage has hit more than 700 Yorkshire homes as residents complain of losing power - with Leeds, Wakefield and Halifax postcodes among those affected.

The power cut has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve the areas, according to the live map.

The reported outage began this morning.

The Met Office had put a yellow weather warning in place for Leeds and Yorkshire from 5pm on Thursday to 11am on Friday.

LS27: 100

WF17: 50

WF17: 90

HX4 8QD: Less than 10

HD4: 60

HD7,HD9: 40

Northern Powergrid said: "Our team are working hard to restore your power as quickly as possible."
