Man in 'life-threatening condition' in hospital after being rescued from fire in East Yorkshire

A man has suffered serious injuries after a fire at a bungalow in East Yorkshire.

Fire crews and police were called to the scene at Riby Court, Hull, in the early hours of Friday morning (Sep 11).

Humberside Police said the man is in a critical condition after suffering from smoke inhalation.

A statement from Humberside Police said: "Following extensive enquiries throughout the day by police and fire investigators into a house fire in Hull, there are no suspicious circumstances that have been identified as part of the investigation and the incident is not being treated as arson.

"Emergency Services were called to a property on Riby Court just after 1am today (Friday, 11 September) following reports a bungalow was on fire.

"A man was rescued from the address and taken to hospital, where he remains this evening in a life threatening and critical condition.

"Officers will continue to work alongside and support Humberside Fire and Rescue Service who will be carrying out their investigation to establish the exact cause of the fire. "
