'˜Real Yorkshirewomen' to star on Tour de Yorkshire podium

Two Yorkshire businesswomen will be handing out prizes to Tour de Yorkshire stage winners this weekend after being hand-picked by Sir Gary Verity.

Caroline Harrison and Philippa Campbell have been chosen to represent ‘real women’ and will assist on the podium at each of the three-day cycle race’s finish points.

Caroline is the chief executive of county-wide social enterprise aspire-igen, which provides training and careers advice to people seeking work, and Philippa runs her own marketing company, Insite. Both are working mothers.

The Tour is highlighting the contribution women make to the region’s economy and Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Sir Gary personally selected the pair.

Caroline and Philippa will hand prizes to cyclists in Settle at 5pm on Friday, Doncaster at 5.30pm on Saturday and Scarborough at 6.45pm on Sunday.
