Virgin Media provide update as service down for residents across Yorkshire

Virgin Media have provided an update after users across Yorkshire reported problems with their service status.

Down Detector - which tracks outages of broadband coverage - saw a huge surge in reports of people struggling to use their TV and internet connections.

More than 30,000 complaints were made on the website in a short period of less than an hour.

A spokesperson said: “An intermittent broadband issue that started yesterday evening was fixed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

"This was not caused by increased usage or a lack of capacity. We know how frustrating this was for customers and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Editor’s note:

First and foremost - and rarely have I written down these words with more sincerity - I hope this finds you well.
