Yorkshire Post reporters shortlisted among the best in the country for British Journalism Awards

A record number of reporters from The Yorkshire Post have made the shortlist for awards recognising the best of British journalism.

Specialist reporters Ruth Dacey, Susie Beever and Robyn Vinter are among the finalists in the British Journalism Awards, alongside former reporter Lindsay Pantry for work she did this year with The Yorkshire Post.

The awards, recognising the highest standards of investigative reporting, features and exclusive journalism, saw over 800 entries from across the country.

Chairman of the judges Dominic Ponsford said making the shortlist was an "incredible achievement". Winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on December 9.

Ruth Dacey, who joined The Yorkshire Post in February, has been shortlisted as new journalist of the year, standing against reporters from The Sunday Times and The Telegraph, for a series of investigations into widening health and education inequalities under the pandemic, and the impact on expectant families.

Robyn Vinter is shortlisted for reports on care crises and charity investigations, while Susie Beever’s work on crime reports with sister title the Yorkshire Evening Post has also made the final shortlist for local and regional journalism.
