Permit parking to go ahead despite objections
HIGHWAYS bosses are set to approve plans for a permit parking scheme later this week despite receiving a series of objections over the idea.
Streets in the Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe areas on the edge of Sheffield city centre will be made the subject of the scheme, with council bosses saying streets are currently clogged with commuters cars.
If members of Sheffield Council’s cabinet highways committee give final approval at a meeting on Thursday, work on implementation of the scheme will start in the next few weeks.
