Petrol station in second knifepoint robbery

A VIOLENT hold-up of a Leeds petrol station may be linked to a similar robbery last month, according to police.

The latest incident at the Texaco petrol station in Robin Lane, Pudsey, happened shortly after 4pm on Saturday when a man armed with a knife threatened two staff, a man and a woman.

When he tried to open the till the male staff member intervened and a struggle ensued during which the staff member received a slight cut to the hand.

The knifeman ran from the shop empty handed in the direction of Richardshaw Lane.

He was described as white, about 5ft 7in, average to well built, wearing a bomber jacket, which was possibly light green, and a hat with a stripe on it. His face was masked with black or grey curtain-type netting.

The same petrol station was subject of a similar robbery on Sunday, December 13, and officers believe the two incidents may be linked.

On that occasion a similar looking man armed with a knife took cash from the till and cigarettes after threatening a member of staff. He was described as being about 5ft 9ins, wearing a brown baggy 3/4-length leather coat and had a stocking over his head.
