Pizza task fails to pan out for Apprentice hopeful

Apprentice hopeful Katie Wright has become the latest candidate to be given the chop after making a dog’s dinner of a gourmet street-food task.

The self-proclaimed “blonde assassin”, 26, ended up in Lord Sugar’s boardroom for the third time when she failed to make a killing selling Italian fare to football fans and tourists during a trip to Edinburgh.

Wright, who dressed as a giant pizza in a bid to boost sales for her team, found herself stone-fired by the tycoon.

But she insisted team leader Adam Corbally should have been the one to feel the heat and sent home from the BBC1 show.

“I just don’t think he ran the task very well and he didn’t actually understand what the task was about,” she said.

“I’m really, really gutted and, based on this episode alone, I don’t think it was fair. But based on the process as a whole, I can see that Lord Sugar might just have been a bit sick and tired of seeing my face in the bottom three.”

She added: “I just wish I didn’t get fired in a pizza costume. I have better outfits I could have worn.”
