Players show they have a heart

PLAYERS from Bradford City Football Club and Bradford Bulls joined forces to back the SOS Save Our Surgery campaign yesterday when they visited the children’s heart surgery unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

Bradford City player Luke O’Brien, seen above with one-week-old Edward Atkinson, was joined by the team’s chief executive David Baldwin, and members of the Leeds Rhinos squad to meet patients.

The visit comes as parents get ready to man a petition at Valley Parade on Saturday, with the aim of rallying support for the campaign among Bradford City fans during their match against Northampton Town Football Club.

The campaign was launched by the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to fight plans which they fear will see specialist children’s heart surgery move outside the region.
