Police appeal after 28-year-old woman dies in tragic two-car crash in West Yorkshire

A woman has died after she was involved in a fatal two-car crash in Huddersfield.

West Yorkshire Police (WYP) are appealing for witnesses after a Vauxhall Corsa travelling away from Huddersfield on the A616 Woodhead Road at Lockwood, Huddersfield, collided with a VW Polo travelling in the opposite direction yesterday.

A 28-year-old woman died in the collision which took place on Sunday just before 11pm.

Sergeant Ann Drury, of WYP’s Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen this collision or either vehicle prior to the collision to contact us.

“There was also an earlier collision at this location involving a Renault Clio and I would ask anybody who witnessed that collision to also come forward.”
