Police appeal for help
over missing teenager

POLICE in North Yorkshire are urging anyone with information about a teenager who has gone missing from her home in Harrogate to get in touch.

Mueni Mulandi was last seen by her mother on Friday of last week, May 17, when she told her she was going to stay with a friend.

The 16-year-old has not been seen since by her family, however, nor has she attended school this week. She was reported missing yesterday.

Police said it was possible the teenager had travelled to London with a friend, or could be in the Leeds area.

But due to her age and the amount of time she has been missing, officers said they were concerned for her welfare and need to know she is safe and well.

Mueni is 5ft 1in and of medium build. She has brown eyes and black shoulder-length hair which is shaved over her ears and highlighted with red and purple.

When she was last seen she was wearing an orange, sleeveless T-shirt, black leggings with a white pattern, a brown bomber jacket and was carrying a black handbag.

Inspector Will Scarlett of Harrogate Police, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who has seen Mueni over the last few days or knows of her current whereabouts, to contact us without delay.

“I would also like to appeal to Mueni directly, your family are very worried about you and want to know that you are safe and well. If you see or hear this appeal, please get in touch with your family, friends or the police and let us know that you are safe.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101.
