Police appeal over rail passenger's attacker

British Transport Police officers are appealing for information after a man was punched in the face while on board a train from Rotherham to Doncaster on Friday, November 19.

The victim, a 42-year-old man from Conisbrough, suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone and had his tooth knocked out in the attack, which took place at about 11.50pm. One of his friends tried to intervene but was also punched, causing a black eye and cuts to his face.

Detective Sergeant Paul Kazimierczyk said: "The group of friends had enjoyed a night out and were simply trying to make their way home when their evening ended in sudden violence.
