Harehills Lane has been closed at the junction of York Road while police continue their enquiries into the incident, which is believed to be a targeted attack.

Detective Inspector Phil Jackson, of Stainbeck CID, said:

“We would like to speak to the driver of a red coloured taxi, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra, which was seen driving towards York Road shortly after this incident occurred.

“A black male and a white female, both believed to be around 16 or 17 years of age were also seen running down Harehills Lane, away from York Road at the time, and I would appeal to them or anyone else with information to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
