Police arrest Harrogate flasher

Up to 10 women have been flashed on the park in recent months and police had warned lone females to stay away from the Stray after dark due to fears the incidents could become more serious.

The flasher has been targeting women by jumping out on them from behind bushes and trees.

He has been described as wearing nothing but a black russian hat and work boots and is aged between 30 and 40, around 6ft with a pale, sickly complexion.

Harrogate CID have confirmed the arrest was made following months of intensive inquiries.

North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 42-year-old man was questioned and released on police bail to allow for further investigation."
