Police force to readvertise for top cop position

NORTH Yorkshire Police is re-advertising for the post of its Chief Constable after holding interviews this week.

The force’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Julia Mulligan, said she and her assessment panel had already seen a range of highly talented candidates with many strengths and aptitudes for the role.

“However, I am determined to ensure the public gets the best possible person to lead North Yorkshire Police and hence I want to test the market again,” she said.

“I have therefore decided to re-advertise the post. Yesterday’s candidates will be welcome to re-apply, if they so wish, and I am still confident of making an appointment as soon as practically possible.”
