Police hunt Leeds park sex beast and his lookout after attack on teenage girl

POLICE are hunting a sex attacker after a teenage girl was assaulted in a Leeds park on Friday evening.

The 18-year-old was making her way home across Cross Flatts Park at around 9.45pm, and as she leant against a tree to use her mobile phone she was passed by two men who were walking towards the park’s Dewsbury Road exit.

Police said one of them subjected her to a “serious sexual assault” while the other acted as a look-out. Her ordeal ended when the look-out said someone was coming. They fled from the area along Cross Flatts Avenue.

A police spokesman said: “The victim made her way out of the park and raised the alarm with a woman in a nearby street. She suffered injuries which did not require hospital treatment but is extremely traumatised by the incident.”

Her attacker is described as Asian, in his late 20s to late 30s, 5ft 9inches tall, skinny with brown eyes and a little moustache. He wore a black zipped up hooded top with McKenzie written on the left hand side of his chest and black jogging bottoms. The second suspect, who acted as a look-out, is described as taller than the first man, chubby, wearing dark clothing with a hood over a dark baseball cap.

Det Chief Insp Lisa Griffin said: “It appears that the attack ended because they could hear people coming so clearly there were people in the area at the time who may have vital information to help the enquiry. I would ask them to get in touch with us now.”
