Police hunt youths on CCTV after trouble

POLICE are trying to identify youths who caused trouble in Beverley over two nights earlier this week.

Officers from Humberside Police had to disperse a large group of youths who had been causing problems in the area between Nolloth Crescent and the town’s Tesco store. The same group is thought to have been involved in a fight on Saturday Market in the town centre on Tuesday night.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested on Tuesday for public order offences. A police spokeswoman said the group broke fences outside properties on the Monday night and had been swearing and making a disturbance.

Pc Martin Pepper, of the Beverley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are working hard to identify those individuals involved in this disorder, and it goes without saying that the behaviour witnessed over the last two evenings will not be tolerated within Beverley.

“Officers are working in conjunction with CCTV and the anti-social behaviour team to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.

“I would urgently encourage any member of the public who witnessed the incidents to come forward to assist us with our inquiries.”
