Police hunting would-be robber with red face

A WOULD-BE robber fled red-faced and empty-handed after his target sprayed him with dye.

The man approached his intended victim, a 28-year-old woman in Wyke, West Yorkshire, and grabbed her bag strap.

But she hit back with a coloured defence spray, which is believed to leave skin stained for several days, and he ran away.

The suspect was white, about 5ft 7ins and slim. He had short dark hair, very thin eyebrows and was clean shaven. He was wearing a blue short-sleeved top and jeans.

Anyone with information about the incident in Carr House Gate at 10pm on Saturday should call 101.
