Thieves made off empty-handed at 1.43pm on August 7 when a burglar alarm went off a house on Cow Lane, Middleton Tyas.

Officers are urging people to be vigilant and to keep property secure.

PC James Leathley said: “It is unclear at this stage if the incidents are connected, but that is certainly a line of enquiry that is being considered.

“For all of the incidents, I am looking for information about any suspicious people or vehicles that were seen in the area. Even small pieces of detail could help to track down the suspects and bring them to justice.

“In the meantime, I urge local residents and business owners to keep your property secure at all times, continue to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity without delay.”
