Police in Richmondshire are investigating whether a series of burglaries are linked.
In the most recent incident, on Saturday night, thieves broke into a house in Ellerton and made off with jewellery, including a sapphire eternity ring engraved with the names "Amanda and Mark".
It followed a burglary overnight between last Thursday and Friday at a service station at Aldbrough St John where thieves forced entry via a window to steal tools including a Snap On diagnostic machine and Milwaukee wheel gun and angle grinder. A Saab car parked outside was "interfered with."
Thieves made off empty-handed at 1.43pm on August 7 when a burglar alarm went off a house on Cow Lane, Middleton Tyas.
Officers are urging people to be vigilant and to keep property secure.
PC James Leathley said: “It is unclear at this stage if the incidents are connected, but that is certainly a line of enquiry that is being considered.
“For all of the incidents, I am looking for information about any suspicious people or vehicles that were seen in the area. Even small pieces of detail could help to track down the suspects and bring them to justice.
“In the meantime, I urge local residents and business owners to keep your property secure at all times, continue to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity without delay.”
