Police name 30-year-old woman killed in Rotherham crash

A 30-year-old woman killed in a two-car collision in Rotherham was today named by police as Sophie Emma Dawson.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash at 2.50pm on Wednesday which claimed the life of Ms Dawson, from Wickersley.

She was driving in a black Citroen C1 which collided with a black Kia Rio driving in the opposite direction on Kilnhurst Road, Rotherham.

Ms Dawson was airlifted to the Northern General Hospital but died of her injures a short time later. An 18-year-old man driving the Kia vehicle suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Witnesses to the incident or anyone seeing either vehicle in the time immieditaly prior to the collision are asked to contact police via: 101 and quoting incident number: 591 from the 28 October. Information can also be emailed to enquires@southyorks.pnn.police.uk.
